TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS WITHIN SANTINIKETAN

Cycle rickshaws are the most convenient form of transportation in Santiniketan, as hired cars and taxis may not always be available. If you are a tourist, be careful not to get on the cycle rickshaws that are manned by persistent teenagers in front of the museum, as they may take you on a circuitous route to charge you more.

Instead, you can use the cycle rickshaws driven by older people, or just walk around the town.

Auto rickshaws are not very common in the area. If you are planning a longer stay in Santiniketan, it may be a good idea to purchase a bike from one of the local cycle shops. A brand new bicycle will cost you between INR 2,200 and 2,600, which is approximately US$45-55.
